New York: The EU’s climate chief, Connie Hedegaard, said she hoped countries opposed to its rules that charge airlines for carbon emissions take complaints to the UN aviation body, where talks could help to defuse tensions over the measures.
A group of 26 countries, including the US, China, India and Russia, have criticised the EU programme and will meet next week in Moscow to set a strategy to block the EU plan.
