Rough seas and heavy rain could be the effects of Cyclone Giovanna on northern KwaZulu-Natal at the weekend if the low-pressure system over Madagascar did not change direction or weaken further.
SA Weather Service forecaster Stacy Colborne said they were still monitoring the situation and tracking changes.
At least three people died as the cyclone slowed down over Madagascar and dumped heavy rains over the island.
Giovanna is currently 2 000 km away from KwaZulu-Natal, but could pick up intensity again over the warm seas of the Mozambican channel. – Daily News Reporter
