Durban - Four students were arrested at the University of KwaZulu-Natal’s Westville campus on Monday as the fees protests continued.
UKZN spokesman, Lesiba Seshoka, said: “Protesting students stopped buses and caused disruptions at some lecture venues and a residence.
“Some students threw stones and bottles at the police.
“Four students were apprehended by the institution’s security services and police. This comes after they threw rocks at the police.”
There was also trouble at Howard College.
“A few students caused disruption at (the) main building, setting off firecrackers at a lecture venue and the student LAN. Two protesters were identified by University Risk Management Services. Their student information has been handed over to the SAPS,” Seshoka said.
Despite these protests, the academic programme continued, he said.
