THE contact details of about 300 organisations dealing with HIV/Aids have been released.

The 280-page directory, published by the Centre for HIV/Aids Networking, was launched at Temple David in Overport in Durban, on Thursday, and is the fourth in a series.

The network’s public relations officer, Cathrine Jenkin, said the directory should be made available and easily accessible where it is needed most.

Attending the launch were organisations the network has worked with over the past 10 years, including the Mavela choir, a group of women from Ntuzuma who run a hospice, feeding scheme and help child-headed homes.

They took the stage, singing “ I Feel Safe When I Walk With Jesus My King”, and performed a traditional Zulu dance.

Network director Debbie Heustice said: “Their programme grows everyday because of the need in their community, which shows how people need our help.”

Heustice reminisced about the Network’s achievements and how they have been able to do so much in just 10 years.

The organisation has also established HIV/Aids support units at UKZN, are involved in research into the disease, and have established call centres.

The directories are selling for R200 and people can call 0860 448 911 to place an order.
