Bongiwe Zuma
Midlands police have launched a search for one of their colleagues, who disappeared while on leave this week.
They are making an urgent appeal for information on the whereabouts of Constable Bongiwe Precious Zuma, who was last seen on the evening of Tuesday, May 22, in the Imbali area.
She was driving her motor vehicle, a red VW Golf.
“Subsequent investigations by the police found Zuma’s vehicle abandoned in the Mason’s Mill area near Imbali,” said police spokeswoman Lieutenant Joey Jeevan.
The vehicle was unlocked and the ignition keys were found hanging from the boot lock.
Some of Zuma’s personal belongings were found in the car, including her handbag.
The circumstances surrounding her disappearance are unknown.
Constable Zuma is attached to the Pietermaritzburg Tactical Response Team.
She is 29 years old, well built and about 1.6m in height. She is of medium complexion.
