DURBAN – A seven-year old boy has died in hospital after he was knocked over by a car along Moses Kotane (Sparks) Road, Sydenham
The incident took place just after 1pm on Thursday.
Garrith Jamieson of Rescue Care said paramedics arrived to find the youngster's lifeless body on the pavement.
"Upon assessment the child was in cardiac arrest, immediately CPR was started and Advanced Life Support interventions were administered on the scene to the young boy. Miraculously Paramedics got a pulse back. The child was then placed on a special stretcher and rushed through to Chief Albert Luthuli Hospital in a critical condition where a trauma team was awaiting the child’s arrival," he said.
Jamieson said that despite paramedics best efforts, the boy died in hospital.
