Durban - A Grade 10 Nothando High School pupil in northern KwaZulu-Natal, was stabbed to death at a church service on Friday evening.

Ntokozo Ncube, of KwaMhlabuyalingana, was allegedly stabbed by his friend and died at the Mboza clinic.

It is alleged that Ncube was playing with other friends and causing noise during the service.

His father, Mabili Ncube, said he was shocked and hurt that his son was killed for playing with others.

“What I heard is that he was playing with others, slapping them in the faces and one of his friends asked him why he was beating others.

“He pulled a knife and stabbed him in the chest and he fell. His friends took him to the Zamazama clinic and then to Mboza after they could not get help at the other clinic,” said Ncube.

Provincial police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Shooz Magudulela, confirmed the incident.

He said the suspect was arrested and charged with murder. He will appear in the Manguzi Magistrate’s Court soon.
