London - Adele has given her mother a new apartment.

The Skyfall singer - who is nominated for an Oscar on February 24 - has signed over a plush new pad in London to her mother Penny Adkins, who reportedly raised her alone and had two jobs to support her daughter's ambitions to become a star.

A source told the Sunday Mirror newspaper that the 24-year-old new mum - who gave birth to her first child Angelo James in October with her charity worker boyfriend Simon Konecki - deeded over the Notting Hill property, which is worth £600 000, to her 44-year-old mother.

The Golden Globe winner also has homes worth £2.5 million in Brighton and a £1.1-million apartment in South West London, as well as another property worth £5.6-million in the same area as her mother's new apartment but is currently renting a house in Beverly Hills.

The chart-topping singer is preparing for her first performance at the Oscar awards ceremony since giving birth to her son, where she will sing the theme tune to the latest James Bond movie Skyfall during a special section dedicated to the franchise.

And she is said to be eager to seek professional help and finally conquer her nerves before the event.

A source said: “A friend in LA recommended the hypnotherapist because Adele was getting so nervous about the gig. She has been rehearsing for the show with an orchestra, but all the preparation in the world isn't enough to keep her calm.” - Bang Showbiz
