Barbra Streisand says Donald Trump's presidency is making her "gain weight".

The 'Woman in Love' hitmaker quipped she has piled on the pounds since the former 'Celebrity Apprentice' star took the White House as she keeps eating "pancakes smothered in maple syrup" after hearing about him on the morning news.

She wrote on Twitter: "Donald Trump is making me gain weight. I start the day with liquids, but after the morning news, I eat pancakes smothered in maple syrup! ...

"Trump just accused Obama of tapping his phones. Seriously crazy times. Time for more pancakes.

It comes after Barbra wrote a song about Trump, which she sang at a LGBT fundraiser for his then presidential rival Hillary Clinton.

In front of the 1000 strong crowd, she sang: "Is he that rich? Maybe he's poor. Till he reveals his returns, who can be sure? ...

"Something's amiss, I don't approve. If he were running the free world, where would we move? ...

"And if, by chance, he gets to heaven, even up there, he'll declare Chapter 11. This sad, vulgar clown. You're fired, you clown."

Meanwhile, Barbra previously admitted she finds many aspects of fame very unappealing.

She explained: "There's part of me that just doesn't know who I am. I remember once there was a woman staring at me as I was was waiting for an elevator and kept thinking, 'Why is she staring at me?' Then I realised, 'Oh, I'm whatshername.'

"I don't understand stardom, I never will and I didn't expect it to be like it was. It's like when you're a child and you want attention and you want to be loved and that's all well and good. But then you get that fame and what comes with it is not so pleasant. I'm only interested in the work – that's what I've realised about myself."
