London - After naming his girls Fifi Trixibelle, Peaches Honeyblossom and Little Pixie, Sir Bob Geldof ought to be comfortable with unusual names.
However, Sir Bob, 60, admitted he dislikes the name of his first grandson Astala so much that he has yet to say it.
Peaches, 23, gave birth last month to Astala Dylan Willow Cohen-Geldof. Her fiancé Tom Cohen, 20, is the father.
Asked how the baby’s name was pronounced, he said on ITV1’s Lorraine show: “I don’t know, I haven’t said it yet – I can’t bring myself to say it.”
However, he said of the baby: “He’s a fantastic little chap. He is cute and they’re really good parents so it’s great.”
Sir Bob’s reaction to the name last week was even stronger. He said: “Yuck! What’s he going to be called in school? Ass? Stella? It’s a girl’s name, let’s face it.”
Before the birth, Miss Geldof said: “We found Astala in a baby name book – quite an obscure one. I wanted a Jewish name because my fiancé is a Jew and it is the male version of Esther.” - Daily Mail
