Los Angeles – US talk show host Ellen DeGeneres has listed her Santa Barbara home for sale for $45 million (about R566 million), local media reported on Monday.
The Italian-style luxury home, known as "The Villa," was built in 1930, according to US entertainment publication People.
With 975 square metres of living space, plus a swimming pool, tennis court and views over the Pacific Ocean and surrounding mountains, the six-bedroom home is currently listed at $45 million with real estate agents Sotheby's.
DeGeneres and her wife Portia de Rossi reportedly bought the home five years ago for $26.5 million, according to the Huffington Post.
The 59-year-old has bought and renovated a number of homes in southern California over the last 25 years, People reported.
"If you think of your home as a canvas – regardless of its style of architecture – you can put anything on it," she told Sotheby's, according to People.
"I tend to keep painting the painting until it's so done, there's nothing left to do. That's when I sell the canvas and buy a new one."
