JLS star Oritsé Williams has been arrested and questioned by police after being accused of rape.

The 30-year-old singer – who shot to fame on 'The X Factor'- has been accused of sexually assaulting a 20-year-old woman in his hotel room after they met at Gorgeous nightclub in Wolverhampton on December 2, where he was promoting his remixed 2015 album 'Waterline'.

The Sun on Sunday reports that the woman told police she and a friend were invited back to Oritsé's hotel room, where they enjoyed some drinks with him and another male pal. When they later left to get a taxi home, she went back to retrieve a handbag she had left behind and alleges this is when the rape took place.

A police spokeswoman told paper: "West Midlands Police were called to a Wolverhampton hotel at 7.45am on Friday December 2 after an allegation of rape and sexual assault was made by a 20-year-old woman.

"A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of rape and a 29-year-old man arrested on suspicion of sexual assault.

"Both men have been bailed until February, pending further enquiries."

Oritsé's representatives have not responded to the publication's request for comment.

JLS – which also featured Aston Merrygold, Marvin Humes and JB Gill - finished as runners-up on The X-Factor in 2008. They went on to have a successful career, selling over 10 million albums, before they split in 2013.
