London - John Mayer says his relationship with Katy Perry feels "very human".
The musician insists his romance with the 'Firework' singer feels totally natural whereas he felt he was part of a celebrity circus with some of his previous partners.
In an interview with 'CBS Sunday Morning', he said: "I don't feel like I'm in a celebrity relationship. For the first time in my life I don't feel like I'm in a celebrity relationship. I know it is high profile. It's hard to explain ... For me it feels like something that's very human."
The 35-year-old guitarist also admitted he has been thinking about marrying Katy, 28, in the future.
When asked if marriage could be in the pair's future, John answered: "Of course. I mean, I'm still the kid from Connecticut. That's what you do."
John's previous girlfriends include Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Simpson - who he described as "sexual napalm" and Taylor Swift, who penned a track about their split.
John and Katy - who have been an item for almost eight months - stepped out together at a Clive Davis' pre-Grammy Gala & Salute to Industry Icons party in Beverly Hills on Saturday night (09.02.13).
According to onlookers the couple spent most of the night with only eyes for one another.
