A representative for hip-hop star Drake says he was leaving a New York nightclub when a brawl began between fellow singer Chris Brown and others.

A statement released Thursday says Drake did not engage in activity that injured anyone.

Police say five people were injured in the fight, where people from both entourages were throwing bottles. It's not clear what prompted the fight, and no arrests have been made. Neither star was on the scene when police arrived.

Brown tweeted a photo of himself with a cut chin, then removed it, as well as other messages about the fight, including epithets and taunts.
