London - Nick Cannon is “depressed” over his split from Mariah Carey.
The 'America's Got Talent' host, whose shares three-year-old twins, Monroe and Moroccan, with his estranged wife, is said to be very upset despite confirming “there is trouble in paradise” on Thursday.
A source close to the 33-year-old star told the New York Post's Page Six: “He seems depressed.”
But the 44-year-old singer has reportedly told friends there is no hope of a reconciliation, as she is furious with Nick for announcing they have been “living in separate houses for a few months” even though they privately agreed to release a joint statement about the status of their relationship.
A source close to the '#Beautiful' singer recently said: “She can't believe he went and did that. Not what they had agreed on and not classy. He was not supposed to say a word.
“She thinks it was extremely childish, impulsive and opportunistic. For her, it was the last straw. She's done with him now.”
Meanwhile, insiders claim that Nick's non-stop flirting and Mariah's jealously ultimately led to the break down of their six-year marriage.
A friend of Nick's told gossip website RadarOnline.com: “The issue is that Nick and Mariah don't trust each other.
“Mariah thinks that when Nick travels that he cheats on her! Mariah is super jealous and things are clearly not good between them.”
But Nick's grandmother, Marie Cannon, says the split came as a complete “shock.”
She said: “I did not know about it. We always stay in touch.
