London - Brittany Murphy's last film is being released in cinemas.

The late actress's final project, an indie thrilled called 'Something Wicked', will finally hit movie theatres in Eugene, Oregon, on April 4, after scenes had to be reshot due to Brittany's untimely death.

The long-awaited debut comes four years after the 'Clueless' star tragically passed away aged just 32 from pneumonia, anemia and multiple drug intoxication - with her husband Simon Monjack mysteriously succumbing from the same causes five months later.

'Something Wicked' producer Joe Colleran told the New York Daily News: "I would describe Brittany's performance as the most chilling performance of her career.

"The first months of reviewing the footage and starting to put things together and then seeing her and hearing her voice, it's very emotional.

"It is an additional responsibility, you do want her performance to be the best it can be, because unfortunately it's her last performance."

The thriller is opening in Eugene where it was filmed, before screening in Portland and Seattle a week later with a view to expanding across the US.

It's chilling premise is of a young couple embarking on their honeymoon against their parents' wishes. When the parents are killed in a car crash, horrible secrets from the couple's past come back to haunt them.

The movie also stars Shantel VanSanten ('One Tree Hill)', James Patrick Stuart ('Supernatural'), John Robinson ('Lords of Dogtown') and Julian Morris ('Once Upon a Time'). - Bang Showbiz
