How do you feel about Van Coke Kartel, Tumi and Yesterday’s Pupil playing on one stage?
If you are ecstatic about that, you are in for a treat because the Brickfields Music Festival will bring them and other artists together to give you the time of your life.
Running for the third time since its inception last year, and drawing on those successes, this festival is going to be the official Joburg year-end party – with a lot of talent.
Depending on what floats your boat, there will be four different spots for you to enjoy yourself at during this event.
The first location will be the Live Stage – where Van Coke Kartel (pictured top right), Tumi and Yesterday’s Pupil will be joined by Shadowclub, Spoek Mathambo, Beast, Kite Rider, Shortstraw, BCUC and Machineri (pictured bottom right).
That’s already a huge showcase, but Brickfields Music Festival is about even bigger things, so feel free to walk away from this if you don’t like what you hear.
You can wander off to the Toy Toy Stage where Felix Laband, Monique Pascall, Space Time Continuum, Dogstarr, Fabio, Floyd Lavine, Sound Sensible, Craig Massiv and Rob Sloan will be battling for stage time. With this line-up you know you will get some sort of consolation and your money’s worth.
But wait, there’s more. Add the Carfax Stage to the mix and you will witness the likes of Das Kapital, Jakobsnake, Dank, Danger Ingozi, Melodik and Andrew The DJ live.
Also, there’s the Mielie Beat Bar where Mix ’n’ Blend, Deeziak, Ambush and Emcee Heavy G, Mpi, That Cutt, DJ Soosh and DJ Hamma will be running all things musical.
The organisers had you in mind when they brought these artists from different genres together because we all have varying tastes.
Chances of you leaving without having at least one act to blow you away are next to zero.
The event will take place at Carfax (39 Gwigwi Mrwebi Street, Newtown) as well as the streets around it.
It will be like one of those street block parties where people do not have to be in a building to still experience the club music under the stars.
