She may be close friends with Jay-Z and Beyonce, but that doesn’t mean Gwyneth Paltrow can blithely use the word “n*gga”. The actress is currently facing a fan backlash after she used the offensive word in a tweet while watching Jay-Z and Kanye West at a show in Paris.
The furore arose from a caption to a picture of Paltrow dancing on-stage with the two hip-hop stars. It read: “N***as in paris for real”. The caption is a reference to the song ‘N***as in Paris’ of the Jay-Z/Kanye West album ‘Watch The Throne’.
In response to the barrage of criticism, Paltrow tweeted: “Hold up. It's the title of the song!”
Paltrow had watched the show with Jay-Z’s wife Beyonce4 and former Destiny’s Child member Kelly Rowland. Her husband, Chris Martin, is in London preparing for a Coldplay concert. She has been extremely supportive of Jay-Z’s concert tour, and attended the Watch The Throne Tour concert in London as well, taking her two young children, Apple and Moses, along with her.
