"Awards are being bought."

Kwaito star Babes Wodumo didn't mince her words after she left the SAMAs empty-handed on the weekend.

The Wololo hitmaker took to Twitter to express her frustration and anger over the injustice, insinuating that history was repeating itself after the Metro Awards debacle earlier this year.

“Everyone saw what happened, what happened at the Metro’s is the same thing that’s happening at the SAMA’s. Mzansi awards are just not on. It’s been revealed that awards are being bought. My song cannot just trend for the whole year, there’s no better newcomer than me. I even got an international nomination from BET awards but not even one award here at home.

"Stop playing with us, continue buying your awards. We’ll never starve because we always get booked and I’ll be Babes Wodumo, Mampintsha will always be Mampintsha and Westink will always be Westink, ” she said in a video.
