ROCKING the Daisies announced on Tuesday that the next big international act secured to headline the popular Darling music festival is US indie-rock act MGMT.
And it didn’t take long for organisers to see a spike in ticket sales, according to marketing manager for host Seed Experiences Jade Adami. The festival, running from October 2 to 5, is already 75 percent sold out.
The announcement said MGMT, comprising Andrew van Wyngarden and Ben Goldwasser, “will command the attention of Daisies fans with their euphoric and tongue-in-cheek take on modern rock, while enthralling fans with the massive global hits, KIDS, Electric Feel, Time to Pretend and more”.
Other international acts already announced are Rudimental and Crystal Fighters, both from the UK.
Adami said it was imperative for people to book tickets as soon as possible.
A safe transfer system was available on their website at rockingthedaisies.com/tickets after an alleged scam artist sold batches of fake tickets for last year’s event.
Local acts performing include John Wizards, Beatenberg, Arno Carstens and Francois van Coke. - Cape Times
