There is just one week to go until the 22nd instalment of Oppikoppi starts. This year, the annual music festival is called Oppikoppi 22: For The Lovely Young Taken to the Unsea. And in keeping with its tradition of being quirky, no one knows what that means, but it’s provocative.
On five stages as well as mini stages and decks that are sponsored by brands, a plethora of musicians will showcase their finest work. Look out for the Windhoek beer activations throughout the fest, for a chance to watch the acts from the comfort of the Windhoek beer deck.
Expect to see America’s own metalcore band, August Burns Red, as well as fellow American and rapper, Yelawolf, and rockers, Kongos. The Red Bull stage will feature the likes of British rapper, Little Simz, as one of the headliners.
The local scene is well represented with the likes of Fokofpolisiekar, Nakhane Toure, Bad Peter, Bongeziwe Mabanda, Jack Parow, TCIYF, The Plastics, Riky Rick, Tidal Waves, Thieve and more taking to the stages.
