R&B soul sensation Brian McKnight rocked a sold-out Grand Arena at Grand West Casino as he took thousands of Capetonians down memory lane during his “The Sequal” tour.

The multi-talented, multi-platinum singer took to the stage in a dapper white and black suit and as soon as he sang his first note a white “panty” was flung towards the stage.

Women, and men, went absolutely crazy during his opening song, as it became quite evident that the man, who has sold over 30 million albums worldwide, still sounded the same, if not better, than he did the last time he was in Cape Town.

McKnight took sometime out from singing to thank the crowd for coming out to watch him do “the same thing he has been doing for over two decades.

“It's been a while since I was last here, but if I could I would be here every week.”

One extremely lucky fan, who won the opportunity on Twitter to be serenaded by McKnight, was brought on stage, made to sit down and then he sang. And boy did he sing. I'm sure most of the women in the audience would have given their left arm to have Brian McKnight look at them like that. Oh, please lest not forget the slow dance and peck on the cheek… *swoon

For almost two hours Brian sang those love songs that has become synonymous with weddings and all things soppy, but that did not stop anyone, including me, from belting out ballad after ballad like “6 8 12”, “Still” and “Crazy Love”.

All I can say is Johannesburg, get ready. An R&B master is heading your way. He is worth your time and money.

That smile… Brian, that smile.
