Phat Joe bids farewell to SABC 1’s hottest gossip show, Real Goboza (RGB) after seven years.

The show's producers had nothing but great things to say about its longest serving presenter.

“Phat Joe has been a valuable member of the RGB family and an excellent driver on our journey of entertaining South Africans. His professionalism, insight and engaging character kept our viewers glued to their screens. We wish him all the best.” - Sydney Mekgwe, the show’s producer.

Phat Joe, who joined RGB in September 2010, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity that was given to him.

“Thank you to all the fans for the opportunity. I had a lot of fun! Most importantly thank you to the entire RGB team. I will see you all in the near future. Watch this space.” said Phat Joe.

Been no stranger to controversy, the former Metro FM host recently left the Durban based radio station East Coast Radio.

Phat Joe wasn’t pushed out

In just one year with the station, Phat Joe had 77 complaints lodged against him with the Broadcasting Complaints Commission of SA.

ECR announced there was a mutual agreement to part ways as Phat Joe pursues other ventures.

Phat Joe is currently playing cupid on DSTV's dating show, Take Me Out Mzansi.
