London - Justin Bieber has signed up to be a mentor on US 'X Factor'.

The 'Never Say Never' hitmaker is assisting L.A. Reid at the Judges' Houses stage of the competition, where he is helping him pick the best acts from his category – which is rumoured to be the over-25s – to go through to the live shows.

The pair were spotted filming for the talent show in Los Angeles yesterday (27.08.12), and Justin posed for photographers in a white T-shirt and sunglasses before later admitting he'd had a "great day".

He wrote on twitter: "Long day but great day. @LA_Reid @ScooterBraun just like old times! thanks (sic)"

L.A. previously signed the 18-year-old singing sensation to Island Def Jam during his time as chairman of Island Def Jam Music Group before he quit in March 2011 to join the US 'X Factor', and the music mogul – who was helped out by Rihanna during last year's show - was delighted to be reunited with Justin and his manager Scooter Braun.

He wrote: "Great day with my guys! @justinbieber @scooterbraun @TheXFactorUSA. (sic)"

Fellow judge Demi Lovato has enlisted the help of Nick Jonas to help her pick her best contestants to progress to the live shows. It has been suggested the 20-year-old singer will mentor wannabes aged 12 to 16, with fellow new judge Britney Spears taking charge of those aged between 17 and 24, while Simon Cowell is expected to mentor the groups. - Bang Showbiz
