Everyone dreams big. Although most of us clock in our nine to fives, we sometimes relish the idea of running some huge company that probably does business with Bill Gates or Mark Zuckerberg – then snap back into reality and we realise we are still here.

But that’s not the case in Samsokolo, the new local sitcom that Mzansi Magic is bringing to you next week.

Everyone in Samsokolo is hustling in one way or another to push the entrepreneur’s interests. From taxi owners to saloons and stokvels, everyone is making money off everyone else.

It’s interesting that even the Izikhothane (those kids who burn money) are covered in this sitcom.

We managed to sneak behind the scenes when they were shooting and saw them in action.

The actors are Lucky Legodi (who stars as Bra Seputla), Linda Sebezo (Ma Josephine), Mpho Osei-Tutu (Niko) and Nomsa Buthelezi (Dudu).

Sebezo is by far the most entertaining actor in this one as she owns her role as Ma Josephine. As usual, she manages to capture her character in a way that is intriguing. For someone who has established her roots in the industry, she remains humble to the crew, taking any direction she is given seriously.

Osei-Tutu is another one to look out for, as he always brings a foreign tongue flavour. Legodi comes through as well, so much so that in the end you can’t afford to have a favourite.

Although it is all punchlines and laughs, the guys behind this show, BlackBrain Productions, hope we understand that there is a need for everyone to use their potential to the fullest.

They are a living example of varsity kids who dreamt of a TV show while they were still at school and ended up creating City Ses’la, which has opened doors for them since then.

Samsokolo starts next week on Tuesday at 7.30pm on Mzansi Magic (DStv channel 321).
