Durban - Idols SA’s longest acting judge, Randall Abrahams, has a reputation for being ruthless, but this time he was in the hot seat showing off his culinary skills.
Abrahams went head-to-head with media personality, model and Vuma FM DJ Vanessa Marawa to win the VIP #CelebChefShowdown in Durban this week.
He beat Marawa by a single vote to secure a spot in the final competition next week. However, the win did not come as a surprise to Abrahams, who said he was confident from the beginning of the show.
“It is a good feeling to be on the other side of the table (to be judged). I was confident that customers would judge me based on the taste and aroma.
“The menu was simple but delicious. I am looking forward to the final,” he said.
Displaying his confidence, Abrahams walked around the restaurant greeting patrons asking if they had enjoyed the food he cooked. Others grabbed the rare opportunity and took selfies.
Both were assisted by professional chefs.
