Johannesburg - Two trailblazing media personalities still have major plans for themselves in radio.
Gareth Cliff, who recently left 5FM, announced he will be running his own digital breakfast show from the website CliffCentral.com
CliffCentral, according to the outspoken broadcaster, is going “anywhere and everywhere – we will be uncensored, unhinged and unradio”.
“CliffCentral is not just an online radio station. It will be multi-faceted and free from suspensions, restrictions or BCCSA complaints,” said Cliff.
The station will also be available on WeChat, an app designed for smartphone users in which you can subscribe to different channels as well as chat with friends and share pictures and videos.
The majority of Cliff’s 5FM breakfast team has also joined CliffCentral. Leigh-Anne Mol, Damon Kalvari and Mabale Moloi will be an integral part of The Gareth Cliff Show from 6-9am.
On Sunday, Jeremy Mansfield announced he will host a weekly national and syndicated radio show from next month on the newly formed X-stream Visual Radio (XVR).
Mansfield’s team said he had more than 30 years in the radio and media industry and had won more awards than any other media personality in South African history.
“This is a medium I know extremely well. I’ve been fortunate to be part of building a team that can offer something unique and extraordinary,” he said .
In addition to Mansfield’s show, XVR will syndicate products both locally and internationally from legends in radio and television, including Darren Scott, Sasha Martinengo, Ian F, Barry Ronge, John Berks and Tich Mataz.
