Women Humanity Arts Festival

This year’s Artscape Women Humanity Arts Festival (AWHAF) focuses on the high rates of femicide. Now in its 11th year, the festival showcases from Wednesday 2 to Saturday 12 August focusing on humanity, women and disability by not only celebrating the bravest souls of our society, but also addressing the challenges they face. Exciting festival productions include, The ‘Ab Fab Drag’ Show,  ‘Ikhaya’, and ‘At Her Feet’. 

Women’s Day sees the Women’s Humanity Walk while more than 100 stakeholders will be exhibiting their work throughout the day.

Hermanus Wine & Food Festival

When it comes to festivals the Hermanus Wine & Food Festival is one of the best. This celebration has been consistently rated as one of South Africa`s Top Ten Wine Festivals and for good reason. Wine Village puts 19 years of festival experience to use to warm the hearts and lift the spirit of those in pursuit of the finer things in life. This festival ensures that there is a great deal to look forward to as winter wraps up. Where else can you find such a vast collection of South Africa`s finest wine, craft beers, artisanal gin and of course the quintessential bubbly stand? All in one venue and presented by the people responsible for the creation of these fine products.

Stuart Lightbody's Unique Wonders

Stuart Lightbody, Cape Town's award-winning sleight of hand artist  and a two-time South African Magic Champion, has returned home to the Mother City to astonish audiences with his brand new show Unique Wonder.  Directed by Tara Notcutt, the 75 minute Unique Wonders show will see two-time South African Close-Up Magic champion and multiple winner of the Grahamstown National Arts Festival Silver Ovation Award Lightbody use his signature style of magic and sleight of hand to take audiences on a journey into the magician’s mind, a place where anything and everything is possible.

King Kong

King Kong – The Musical tells the story of heavyweight fifties boxing champion Ezekiel Dlamini whose self-appointed ring name was "King Kong" to the wildly exhilarating music of Todd Matshikiza.

The Mystery of Irma Vep

Downtown Abbey and The Twilight Saga collides in Charles Ludlam`s side-splitting comedy that explodes onto the stage.

Jonathan Roxmouth and Weslee Swain Lauder star in this spoof where all the residents of the Mandacrest estate travel from the moors of England to the tombs of Egypt and back again, encountering along their way a host of vampires, werewolves, mummies and all manner of things that go bump in the night. With Gothic plot turns thrown out like thumbtacks on the road and a stage packed full of outrageous sets and costumes, Irma Vep is a visual feast that will have you in stitches right up until the final twist!
