• Twelfth Night at The Macbeths runs from June 3 to 6 at the Arena Theatre, UCT Hiddingh Campus. A highly entertaining and witty collage drawing from several Shakespearean plays, but rooted in his Twelfth Night. 7.30pm. R45 to R60 at www.webtickets.co.za.

• Fergus of Galloway runs from tomorrow to June 28 at the Rosebank Theatre. Created from an epic poem of knights and maidens, Fergus of Galloway is set in the time of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table. Multiple award-winning playwright Nicholas Ellenbogen has reworked the choral piece into a musical, and drawing from influences of blues, reggae and folk rock, a talented young cast has rearranged it into a modern powerhouse. 8pm. • Proudly Afrisnaaks runs from Monday to June 7 at the Baxter Golden Arrow Studio. Following their success at the Suidoosterfees earlier this year, five of the best Afrikaans stand-up comedians have come together to showcase their diversity in this proudly South African comedy shows. 8.15pm. • Cape Town Big Band Jazz Festival runs from tomorrow to Saturday at the Baxter Concert Hall. Celebrating 16 years at the venue, the festival will showcase 23 school, college and community big bands over the four days. 7.45pm. R90. Tel: 021 797 6657.

• The 10th Jive Cape Town Funny Festival ends June 22 at the Baxter Theatre. South Africa’s favourite comedy festival returns for a 10th season to the home of Cape comedy, hosted by stage, TV and film star Shaleen Surtie Richards. • Richard Wright-Firth directs Candice van Litsenborgh with Drew Rienstra on the piano at the Galloway Theatre at the V&A Waterfront Theatre School in Understudy Blues until Saturday.
