SEABROOKE’S THEATRE: After critically acclaimed performances at the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown, and Hilton Arts Festival, Thinkskin’s production of Callum’s Will is coming to Durban’s Seabrooke’s Theatre from January 29 until February 10. STABLE THEATRE: Inkonyane Engegama (The Calf With No Name) is a heart-warming children’s stage play that runs from February 12 to 16 daily at 10am. Cattle are an integral part of traditional Zulu culture, and status in a community is measured by the condition and number of livestock a family owns. Each animal is named and identified by its markings, and those that are pure white or black are usually given into the care of the king, who is regarded as the true custodian of these rare beasts. Now Durban-based production company Dizzy Dragonfly is set to educate youngsters about Nguni cattle through Inkonyane Engenegama. Created by award-winning writer Clinton Marius, the production is translated into Zulu and directed by Mpume Mthombeni. Tickets are R25, R20 for block bookings of 20 or more. ELIZABETH SNEDDON THEATRE: Pieter-Dirk Uys has prepared four hours of performance choices in An Audience with Pieter-Dirk EISH! Every night will feature a different show of 90 minutes, because the audience decides what they want. It could be Evita Bezuidenhout as a new ANC cadre, or Nowell Fine celebrating 40 years in the public eye. Maybe a Malema in Gucci or chains, some Zumas, married or not, one or two Mandelas, a Tutu, a PW or a Pik. The show runs from February 26 to March 10, Tuesdays to Saturdays at 8pm, Sundays at 3pm.
