An orchestra formed by musicians from 60 countries and conducted by Josep Vicent celebrates its 14th international tour, including a stop at City Hall tonight.

Inspired by the strong diplomatic and social commitment of acclaimed maestro Vicent, United in Music is the result of a creative and educational process that unites young South African and European musicians with musicians and music lovers from all over the world.

Besides the tour of symphonic concerts, The World Orchestra (pictured) will carry out a series of educational activities to reach communities with less access to classical music.

Kicking off in Durban tonight, in partnership with the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra’s 30th Anniversary Season, The World Orchestra will also visit other parts of the country this month.

• Tonight’s performance starts at 7.30pm. Tickets R45 to R200 at Computicket. Visit www.theworldorchestra.org
