La Toya Jackson is considering adopting a child.
The 58-year-old singer got engaged to her business partner Jeffré Phillips, 46, last August and, although they are yet to set a date for their big day, they're already thinking about starting a family together in the near future.
Speaking on 'Good Morning America' yesterday while promoting her new reality TV series 'Life With La Toya', which will air on the Oprah Winfrey Network on June 7, she said: “I've always wanted to be a mother, all my life.”
Meanwhile, the brunette beauty admits she was stunned when her beau popped the question while they were on vacation in Hawaii last summer.
She said recently: “[I was caught off guard so] it wasn't a fast yes. I had no clue. I couldn't understand why he was so nervous.”
Jeffré had La Toya follow a path of white rose petals and gardenias to their hotel balcony, where he had arranged a romantic dinner of her favourite foods, before surprising her with a 17.5-carat diamond ring, which had been hidden under a dessert tray.
She explained: “My heart just stopped.
“I was in total shock. We're best friends and we've been business partners forever. It was always professional - no one really crossed those boundaries.”
La Toya - the older sister of late 'Thriller' hitmaker Michael Jackson - also teased that fans will get to find out about her wedding plans in the upcoming series. – Bang Showbiz
