 R2m worth of copper stolen from supply store

Four men were arrested for the theft of R2-million worth of copper in Kew, Gauteng police said on Saturday.

The copper was stolen from a supply store in Kew at 6pm, said Inspector Moses Maphakela.

Police followed a tip-off that led to the men who they found, still in the Kew area, loading a truck with the stolen copper.

Four men, ages 23, 36, 39 and 53 were arrested.

They will appear in Alexandra Magistrate's court on Monday to face charges of possession of stolen property. - Sapa
