The energy intensive user group of South Africa has questioned the viability of Eskom's suspension of load-shedding, SAFM reproted on Sunday.

"[Eskom CEO Jacob Maroga] said if Eskom puts every new bit of capacity online on schedule with no delays and the country's economy only grows by four percent instead government's projected six percent, in 2014 we will have a [smaller] reserve margin than we have today," said the spokesperson.

The energy intensive user group includes mines and is comprised of the country's biggest energy consumers.

The group's spokesperson told the radio station that the group was confused about Eskom's decision to halt the power cuts.
