A 14-year-old boy was arrested for allegedly raping a three-year-old girl in Katlehong, East Rand police said on Thursday.

"He was arrested on Wednesday after the girl pointed him out in a line up," Captain Mega Ndobe said.

The boy, from Mngadi township, allegedly raped the girl in Sakhile township - where she lives - on Sunday.

"She was playing outside her house when the boy led her to a shack and raped her... When the child went home, her mother was giving her a bath and discovered that she was raped. She took the child to the doctor who confirmed it," he said.
