A burglar was arrested for a spate of robberies committed over the last two months in the Ginsberg area outside King Williams Town, Eastern Cape police said on Tuesday.
Police confiscated R60 000 worth of stolen property on Monday from the Zwelitsha township home of the 34-year-old man, said Inspector Stephen Marais.
"Three policemen arrested the suspect while he was walking down a street with a television set and a hi-fi," said Marais. "He has been linked to eight other cases of house breaking."
During a raid on his home, police found stolen television sets, microwave ovens, clothes, bedding, cutlery and various suitcases. It is believed the suspect has been living in the area for two months and is originally from Mdantsane, in East London.
