Police are searching for a 13-year-old girl kidnapped in an apparent hijacking outside a Tshwane shopping centre.
Thabi Mashigo was sitting in her aunt's car in the parking lot of a Centurion shopping centre on Wednesday when two men, allegedly armed with guns, forced her to open the doors of the vehicle before speeding off.
Thabi's aunt had run into a store to buy a few groceries and had left the keys in the ignition so that the teenager could listen to the radio while waiting for the woman to return.
Her hysterical aunt, realising what had happened after she returned to the parking lot, alerted the authorities.

On Thursday, detectives from the Pretoria Anti-Hijacking Unit and Lyttelton police station reviewed surveillance footage taken from CCTV cameras at the shopping centre.
It is believed that the footage showed two men pointing guns at Thabi before getting into the car and racing off.
Thabi's aunt was questioned on Thursday about the circumstances surrounding the hijacking. It was not known why a statement was not taken from her at the time of the incident.
Police Constable Brenda Kgafela confirmed that a massive search for the girl had been launched.
Anyone who has information on Thabi's whereabouts should phone Crime Stop on 08600-10111.
