Rollin', rollin', rollin' ... They're loud, brash and in your face and likely to entice you and your children to go out and get a tattoo - rock/hip-hop band Limp Bizkit are rolling into town.

As fans know lead singer Fred Durst is a registered tattoo artist. That's how he got his first big break.

Durst was a tattooist in Jacksonville, Florida and in 1995 he befriended Korn bassist Fieldy and guitarist Head when they took time off their own tour to get some tattoos done.

The acquaintance turned into a friendship and the next year Durst slipped them a Limp Bizkit demo tape and landed a spot touring with House of Pain and The Deftones.

The band took its name from the supposed condition of a dagga-smoking friend's brain.

Durst will be accompanied by bassist Sam Rivers, drummer John Otto, DJ Lethal and guitarist Mike Smith, who replaced original guitarist Wes Borland last year.

Fresh from the United Kingdom leg of their European tour, Limp Bizkit will kick off their South African visit in Cape Town on April 2 at the Bellville Velodrome. The supporting act will be announced at a later date.

They will move on to Durban on April 4 and Johannesburg on April 6.

Their music is a fusion of hip-hop and metal and their 1997 debut album Three Dollar Bill featured a cheeky remake of George Michael's Faith.

Their second album, Significant Other, debuted at number one on the Billboard Top 200 in 1999.

A year later they released Chocolate Starfish And Hot Dog Flavoured Water, which featured the hits My Generation, Rollin', My Way and the theme song to Mission Impossible 2, Take a Look Around.

Fred Durst also has a solo career and his latest offering, a cover of The Who's Behind Blue Eyes, can be heard on the soundtrack of Gothika which is currently on South Africa's screens.

In addition to songs from the first three albums, the concert will also feature material from their latest album, Results May Vary.
