Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron has asked for as quiet a time as possible in South Africa.
But she may not get her wish. She is scheduled to attend a gala dinner in her honour in Johannesburg on Wednesday and will also be hosted by President Thabo Mbeki at the Union Buildings in Pretoria. Nelson Mandela has also asked to meet her.
Charlize is also to spend a day in Cape Town for a series of press interviews.
Publicist Jarrod Krombein said Charlize has asked not to be disturbed for the next few days while she recovers from all the publicity surrounding her Academy Award, and had also requested as quiet a time as possible in South Africa.

After the gold statuette, Charlize is to have a gem.
Steven Fine, marketing manager for a Midrand-based jeweller, has decided to name a newly discovered variety of semi-precious stone the "Star of Charlize".
According to Fine, the stone - a type of amazonite with a quartz grain - was found on Thursday at a tourmaline (crystal) mine in Chalaua, Mozambique.
Fine likened the find to "discovering a new bird species".
The stone, while on the surface completely nondescript in appearance, has horizontal light green strata interrupted by grey-blue lines.
Fine said he was watching the Oscars on television on Monday night, when he decided: "Why not dedicate something to Charlize?"
He and the director of Gecko Jewellers, Anuschka Förmeier, plan to turn the stone they have acquired into a set of jewellery which they intend to present to her.
Once cut and polished, the stone will be aquamarine-turquoise in colour, with fine grey-blue stripes.
Fine would not venture to put a value to the stone.
