Eastern Province cricketer Robin Peterson is again on his way to Sri Lanka to join the Proteas team as replacement - this time for the injured Nicky Boje.
Peterson was informed of the national selectors' call-up on Friday shortly before taking the field for EP in this weekend's SuperSport Series match against North West in Potchefstroom.
Two years ago, during South Africa's tour of Sri Lanka Peterson was brought out as a standby for the injured Paul Adams.
Boje has a hairline fracture of the right ring finger and was declared unfit for Friday's Champions Trophy game here against Kenya. There are worries that the left-arm spinner may not play in the tournament again as his injury will take some time to heal.

With the tournament's semifinal coming up on Wednesday against either India or England, the South Africans are not prepared to gamble on Boje's fitness and have asked for a replacement.
Boje still has a chance of playing in the semis, but with a possible final looming - if the Proteas win on Wednesday - Shaun Pollock's side will need an in-form and fit spinner.
Peterson was one of a few players who performed well against the Australian A side in the past three weeks. He could be the ideal replacement should Boje decide he cannot take any further part in this competition.
Though Peterson did not play on the 2000 tour here he was able to learn a lot while bowling in the local conditions during his three-week stay with the national squad.
Peterson, a 23-year-old slow left-armer, took 10 wickets in the one-day series against Australia A at 24.50 with a best return of two for 31.
He was also useful with the bat at the top of the order, scoring 116 runs in five innings with a highest score of 56.
The convener of the national selectors Omar Henry, who is attending the ICC tournament here, has been following Peterson's progress against the Aussies. He was pleased that the Eastern Province youngster performed soundly - not only finishing second on the bowling averages with the most wickets in the series but he also batted well against the strong touring team.
Henry said: "Robin was the most logical choice to come out here. He has shown encouraging form against the Australian A side and deserves to be given recognition.
"However there's no guarantee that Robin will play in the tournament - he is being brought out as cover for Nicky."
Selector Pat Symcox said that Boje had been receiving treatment day and night here. "For a while it looked good, but now the recovery is not going as we had hoped."
