Injuries continue to plague the Bulls team ahead of their season ending match against the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein on Saturday.

On Wednesday, Bulls coach Frans Ludeke could only watch in dismay as his team were hit by yet another injury to reserve loose forward Dewald Potgieter who himself had only made it into the match day team because of an injury to Wikus van Heerden.

Potgieter failed a late fitness test on Wednesday morning and his place in the team will be taken up by Springbok loose forward Hilton Lobberts who was pulled out of the the Blue Bulls team for their Vodacom Cup final encounter against the Free State Cheetahs on Friday.

Potgieter's injury could not have come at a worst time for the Bulls who were still coming to terms with injuries to Van Heerden and Derick Hougaard.

But Ludeke had little time to digest the bad news with the clash against the domestic champions looming large and the Bulls hoping to stretch their three-match unbeaten run.

Ludeke is wary of a Cheetahs side who have been unfortunate this season by being on the wrong end of a number of narrow results.

"This is going to be the last game of the season and it is going to be a real battle," said Ludeke.

"The Cheetahs have been able to push most of the teams they have played in the competition.

"They are a good team and we've spoken about their dominance in the local game over the past few years. It is going to be a really hard game - but that's typical of any South African derby."
