Windhoek - Namibia has reportedly put in a bid to host the 2006 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) said on its internet site that Namibia is among three new countries that have sent in bids for the 2006 competition.

The other two are Ivory Coast and Libya. CAF said that Namibia and Libya have, however, sent their intention to host the event without having completed the necessary documents.

The Namibia Football Association, whose officials were not immediately available for comment, can still send in the required documents until March 31, the official deadline for the reception of candidatures.
