Turin, Italy - Newly-crowned Italian champions Juventus were still refusing to talk to the media on Saturday despite winning the league title 24 hours earlier.

Juventus won the Serie A championship without kicking a ball on Friday evening when their closest challengers AC Milan were held to a 3-3 draw at home to Palermo.

The Juventus players did not come together for a Scudetto party and instead were spread around the city.

Juve's Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic spent the evening watching the Milan game with team-mate Stephen Appiah before driving into town to soak up the atmosphere.

A statement posted on the Turin club's official website read: "In the face of some disconcerting events that we suspect have emerged in a bid to damage our reputation at a crucial stage of the season, Juventus football club has decided to concentrate all of its attention on the job in hand.

"For this reason, starting from today until things improve, we shall not be talking to the press to avoid further controversy."
