Kaizer Chiefs coach Vladimir Vermezovic admitted on Tuesday that his side simply have to beat SuperSport United on Wednesday night to retain any hope of clinching the Premiership title.
The Amakhosi's rather fortuitous victory over Santos on Friday night was their fifth consecutive league game without defeat, an improvement on a dreadfully inconsistent start to the season.
Vermezovic's side, however, still find themselves eight points behind twice reigning champions SuperSport, who are five points clear of second-placed Ajax Cape Town, and on target for a remarkable treble.
"It's another big game for us, maybe our most important game this season," said Vermezovic at the Chiefs Village on Tuesday, "because they are eight points in front and we need to win to stay in the race for first place in 2009."

The Chiefs coach at least has a fully fit squad to choose from, though central defender Valery Nahayo is only just back in full training, and highly unlikely to start.
Vermezovic also indicated that he would not field goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune, who sat on the bench against Santos after a finger injury had kept him out of the squad since the end of August.
"We have five goalkeepers, only one can play, and our goalkeeper at the moment is Arthur Bartman," said Vermezovic.
"I don't know why everyone asks about goalkeepers. Khune was on the bench in PE. Khune is our No.1 goalkeeper, there is no doubt, but you know he came from a long period of injury, and Bafana also need Khune ready for their games.
"I don't see any reason to make changes in goal. Arthur Bartman is in good form at the moment and I don't want to destroy that."
The Chiefs coach, meanwhile, was full of praise for SuperSport, and particularly their Liberian attacking star Anthony Laffor.
