The world 100 mile record holder, Oleg Kharitonov, has announced that he will be running for the Mr Price World Team at the Comrades Marathon 2003.
"I finished in 12th position in Comrades Marathon in 2001 and then last year I finished fourth" said Kharitonov from his home in Yekaterinburg, Russia on Sunday.
"I am a very good shape for the Two Oceans Marathon and Comrades this year.
"After Comrades last year I ran a personal record marathon in August in 2:17:50 - this was 10 weeks after I ran Comrades Marathon.
"I broke the 100 mile World record on October 20, 2003 in the Commemoration race in London, and my time was 11:28:03. I must admit that the 100 mile race took a lot from me - to break the record I had to run the last 10km faster than 40 minutes which is very difficult after 11 hours of running! But I feel great now.

The 35-year-old Russian believes that he can finish in the top three in Comrades in June.
"I will be in South Africa from next week to acclimatise for the Two Oceans Marathon. My plan is to finish in the top 10 there - it is no use killing myself before Comrades.
"Because I have run the up run and down run at Comrades, I now know what is necessary as far as training goes, to be successful. I decided on a plan after Comrades last year and I have stuck to it - in fact, bettered it" said a confident Kharitonov.
