ANY PROBLEMS
1) Make
sure that the game you have ordered is compatible with your handset.
Supported handsets are listed for each game. Please make sure
you have a compatible handset before purchasing any games. If
your phone is not shown in the list - the game will not work.
If your handset is not shown as compatible, email us at : help@thumbtribe.co.za
to find out if your handset has recently been added.
2) If you haven't received the SMS containing the game URL to
your phone within 5 minutes of sending it, please ensure that
you have typed the sms correctly and sent it to the correct number
OR contact support on help@thumbtribe.co.za
3) When requesting the game remember to type "tribe"
in lower case and leave a space between the word "tribe"
and the number proceeding it.
4)For R40 and R50 GAMES - send the initial sms to the number stated
on the webpage - you will get a return SMS within a few minutes
confirming your order. You need to reply to the number to the
number stated in the sms in order to load the game.
5) Before you load the game, phone your service provider and ask
them to DATA & FAX ENABLE your SIM CARD as well as PROVISION
you for GPRS or WAP. Once you have done this, ensure that you
have the latest GPRS SETTINGS for your phone by doing the following:
MTN
- FREE Service
1. On your phone enter *123*13# and then push the dial key.
Cell
C - FREE Service
Customers must dial 140 and request WAP or GPRS settings settings.
VODACOM
- FREE Service
1. On your phone enter *111# and then push the dial key.
2. Press "Answer" and enter 5
3. Follow the instructions
WARNING: DATA AND FAX ENABLING YOUR SIM CARD MAY TAKE UP TO 24
HOURS TO BE ACTIVATED, DEPENDING ON YOUR OPERATOR. YOU CAN'T DOWNLOAD
A GAME UNTIL YOUR SIM CARD HAS BEEN DATA AND FAX ENABLED AND YOU
HAVE WAP SETTINGS SAVED TO YOUR PHONE.
Make sure
you have the latest WAP/GPRS settings.
We recommend all contract subscribers use GPRS as it is faster
and cheaper. For Pre-Paid customers we recommend ordering WAP
settings.
6) Make sure that you have a strong GPRS signal when loading the
game. This is not related to the strength of your phone signal.
If you are battling to connect (eg data bearer not available or
your connection is timing out), ensure you have the latest GPRS/WAP
settings and try connecting in a different area.
7) For NOKIA owners (NOT SERIES 60) the message is sent as a SERVICE
MESSAGE and you will be able to find it by going from the MAIN
MENU to SERVICES to SERVICE INBOX. Click on the game and click
RETRIEVE. For SAMSUNG phones you will need to go to your FUNBOX,
wwwservices and look for push messages. For Motorola and Sony
Ericsson this message will arrive as a PUSH MESSAGE in your push
message inbox.
8) The games take approximately 5 minutes to download. The length
of time can vary in either direction.
9) INVALID FILE error - edit your service settings and ensure
that SESSION MODE is set to PERMANENT or order new GPRS settings
by following the instructions above.
10) If your phone says "MEMORY FULL" or "MEMORY
LOW, MARK ITEMS TO ERASE" or "NOT ENOUGH MEMORY AVAILABLE",
this indicates that your phone has insufficient room to store
the Java game you wish to download. You will need to delete some
games or other content from your phone. Please refer to the manual
that came with your handset. Once the game/s is deleted you may
not be able to retrieve or download that game - refer to the terms
associated with where you purchased/downloaded that game.
11) If you can't find the game after you have successfully downloaded
it, turn the phone off and on again. Look in your applications/games
folder or in the main menu.
12) Please exit the game properly once you have finished playing,
otherwise it will run in the background. If you are not sure if
you have exited the game properly, press and hold down the "menu"
key for a few seconds. A list of running applications will be
displayed.
13) Ensure that your phone is set up to receive PUSH MESSAGES
by going through the menu options on your phone - this is directed
mainly at Sony Ericsson customers.
IS THERE A PER USAGE FEE FOR WAP?
When you
access the WAP service, you will be billed for the call by your
service provider in the same way as any other call. There is no
other charge.
NOTE: It's much
better and cheaper for you to use GPRS than DATA (or dialup)
AN EXAMPLE OF HOW TO LOAD A GAME
TO LOAD
A GAME SMS THE CODE FROM THE WEB PAGE TO THE NUMBER AS INSTRUCTED.
MAKE SURE THAT THE WORD tribe IS ALL IN lower case AND LEAVE A
SPACE BETWEEN tribe AND THE NUMBER. If you want to load a game
like MOBY GAME (for example) with a code as follows tribe 12345.
Then what you need to do is type in lower case, leaving a space
between the word and the number:
tribe
12345
SMS this
to 40014.
Because this
is a R50 game you will get a reply message asking to confirm the
order by sending the same message to 42008. So you would type:
tribe
12345
and SMS
this to 42008.
You would
then receive a game message. This is sent as a push message or
a service message and will not be found in your normal message
inbox. For Nokia phones it will appear in your SERVICE, SERVICE
INBOX. For Samsung phones you will need to go to your FUNBOX,
wwwservices and look for push messages. For Motorola and Sony
Ericsson this message will arrive as a push message in your push
message inbox.
Click
on the GAME MESSAGE or GAME URL and load the game. As long as
you have a strong signal and are set up for GPRS/WAP - the game
will load in a matter of a few minutes. Once it is loaded there
is no extra charge - play it as often as you like.

you send 2 SMS messages to 40014. Only send the second SMS, once
you have received a reply from the first - any problems contact

For R50 games
you send 1 SMS to 40014 and when prompted by the return SMS, send
a new sms to 42008 - any problems contact help@thumbtribe.co.za
You get charged
when you send the SMS request for the game - so if you have any
queries or problems contact us - help@thumbtribe.co.za

must be correctly setup on the handset in question; There will
be a network connection cost incurred while downloading the mobile
application. This cost is your responsibility; Mobile applications
require significant handset memory and your handset must have
sufficient memory for the download to work. We would recommend
that before downloading an application you ensure that your handset
has free memory equivalent to twice the memory requirement of
the application.
