Washington - Bobbie Jo Stinnett, the first-time mother whose baby was torn from her womb after she was murdered, was buried on Tuesday in the midwest state of Missouri.
The 23-year-old woman was strangled last week at her home in Skidmore, Missouri, where an acquaintance who knew her through a rat-terrier-breeding Internet website carried out the gruesome killing.
The private funeral was held in nearby Maryville, Missouri.
A 36-year-old Kansas woman, Lisa Montgomery, who has confessed to the act, was charged on Monday in Federal District Court in Kansas City, where she was arrested the day after the killing.
The baby, since named Victoria Jo, survived the violent Caesarean in good shape and was found at Montgomery's Kansas home on Friday with the help of computer information and online users. The baby has been returned to the custody of her father, Zeb Stinnett.
