 Lightning storm downs three near Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa - Three people were killed and 14 others injured when lightning struck an area in south-western Ethiopia at the weekend, officials said on Monday.

The incident occurred on Sunday in Gara-Gudino area, 400km south-west of Addis Ababa, instantly killing two women and a man and injuring 14 others, Ethiopian News Agency (ENA) reported, citing local administrator Kifle Jeguba.

The injured, some in critical condition, were rushed to a nearby medical centre, Kifle said.
