Nairobi/Abidjan - The Ivory Coast has once again delayed presidential elections that were due to take place at the end of November.

The poll, supposed to end the political turmoil that has seized the West African nation since the 2002-2003 civil war, has been repeatedly postponed since 2005.

Electoral commission chief Robert Beugre Mambe said that five million voters had been cleared to take part in the election but that more time was needed to clarify the status of another one million potential voters.

A new date for the election is to be set in the coming days. - Sapa-dpa
