Athletics South Africa announced on Thursday that Khotso Mokoena has been included in a prestigious Commonwealth Select team to compete in a major international indoor meeting in Glasgow, Scotland, on Saturday.

Mokoena is the reigning World Indoor long jump champion and also won the silver medal at last year's Olympic Games in Beijing.

He will, therefore, miss the second leg of the Yellow Pages Series in Tshwane on Friday but should be in action again later in the Series.

Mokoena started his new season on a high note at Potchefstroom last Friday when he achieved the IAAF World Championships A qualifying standard of 8,15 metres to secure his place in the South African team to compete in World Championships in Berlin in August.
